Ministry Teams of Penngrove Community Church


Children

Purpose:  To oversee and implement the Children’s Church ministry, Vacation Bible School and Children’s Choir in accordance with the vision of Penngrove Community Church.

 

Programming:  Children’s Church on Sunday mornings during morning service.   Vacation Bible school one week during the summer school break; Children’s Choir help once a year to perform an evangelistic children’s musical.  Nursery for church services on Sunday.

 

Positions:    

Children’s Church Director:  to schedule volunteer teachers to oversee the teaching of our children during the morning service, to review and order Children’s Church materials, to maintain craft supplies as needed, and to organize special events for children quarterly, including overseeing the general direction of VBS for the summer..

Nursery Coordinator:  to schedule nursery workers for Sunday morning services and to maintain appropriate nursery supplies.

Children’s Choir Director:  to review children’s choir material, schedule rehearsals and performance, recruit volunteers that are needed for performance.  (Typically this has been a six-week endeavor with one weekly rehearsal, Saturday morning dress rehearsal, and a Sunday morning performance.)

Communication

Purpose:  to coordinate and oversee the publishing of monthly church newsletter, weekly bulletin, oversight of Penngrove Community Church website, and other important printed flyers, announcements, and calendar.

 

Positions:  

Newsletter Editor: oversee the publication of monthly church newsletter, recruit volunteers, organize and collect important stories, dates, announcements and information from various ministries that need to be communicated to the church body.

Bulletin Editor: organize and print weekly worship bulletin.  Collect the worship line-up from worship leader, sermon outline (when available), important top 3 announcements for week, weekly church schedule and missions information for missions prayer.

Web-Master:  oversee the upkeep and updating of Penngrove Community Church web site in accordance with church ministries.

 

Finance

Purpose:  To fulfill the financial responsibilities of the church in accordance with the by-laws of the church and the requirements of the State of California. 

Positions:

Treasurer:  Shall be elected at the annual meeting, shall receive all contributions and benevolent subscriptions; take charge of all offerings and special collections, keep an accurate account with each contributor, and furnish contributors with quarterly statements of their accounts upon request.

The Treasurer shall deposit funds received in such depository as mutually agreed upon by the Church Council and the Treasurer.  Under the direction of the Council, he shall have custody of all papers relating to the property of the church.  The Treasurer shall pay the bills of the church on order from the Council. The Treasurer shall keep accurate account of all receipts and disbursements and may be bonded as prescribed by the Council.

Budget Committee Members:  Aid the Treasurer in developing a working budget for the year.

Men’s Ministry

Purpose:  To coordinate and implement the Men’s Ministry of Penngrove Community Church in accordance with the vision of Penngrove Community Church.  This includes the annual Men’s Retreat, men’s Bible studies, work-days for the church, and special events.

 

Positions:    

Men’s Ministry Coordinator:  to over see the development and recruiting    of volunteers for the men’s ministries, oversee the registration and administration for special men’s ministry events such as the Men’s Retreat, Promise Keepers, work days and other special events.

Men’s Retreat Director: to coordinate and oversee the programming and recruiting of volunteers for annual men’s retreat.  To develop the theme, recruit speakers, worship leaders, kitchen crew, and recreation coordinator.

 

Men’s Bible Study Coordinator:  Coordinates and oversees the programming and development of men’s bible studies.

 

Missions

Purpose: To coordinate and fulfill the church’s Mission’s Policy

 

Positions:

Missions Coordinator:  Shall be elected at the annual meeting; shall lead the Missions Committee to implement the church Missions Policy which includes the world missions ministry, and shall bring the names of committee members and the budgets to the Church Council for approval.

Missions Committee Members: Aid the Missions Coordinator in carrying out the Mission’s Policy of the Church

 

Property

Purpose: To ensure the care and custody of all properties of the church, whether real or personal.

Positions:

Property Steward:  Shall coordinate the care and custody of the property of the church, whether real or personal, and be the liaison between the Church Council and tenants and those who use church property or facilities.

Property Assistants: Aid the Property Steward in the care and maintenance of all church properties

 

Shepherding

Purpose:  to call upon the members of Penngrove Community Church to follow up on the welfare of our church family.  To pray for prayer concerns of members, to visit shut-ins and to visit members in hospitals, convalescence, or rehabilitation.  To provide assistance in meals for new mothers, widow(ers), and those who are in need or crisis. 

 

Positions:  

Shepherd Ministry Leader(s): to oversee the ministry of the Shepherding Team, to contact and coordinate visits, calls, and meals when needed.  To be in contact with the Diaconate Board, Prayer Chain, and Crisis and Caring ministries for specific needs that the Shepherding team my assist .  To recruit volunteers to assist in needs based on the need that needs to be addressed.

Shepherding Volunteers:  Based on need at hand.

 

Women’s Ministry

Purpose:  to coordinate and implement the Women’s ministry of Penngrove Community Church, which includes the Annual Christmas Tea, Little Girls Spring Tea, Women of Faith, Mt Gilead Women’s retreat and women’s Bible studies and fellowships.

 

Positions:    

Women’s Ministry Coordinator: to oversee the development and recruiting of volunteers for the women’s ministries of Penngrove Community Church, oversee the registration and administration for special women’s events such as Women of Faith and Mt Gilead women’s retreat.

Christmas Tea Coordinator: to coordinate the annual Christmas Tea and

recruit the required volunteers for this event.

Bible Studies Coordinator:  to coordinate, implement and review materials for women’s bible studies.

Worship Team

Purpose:  To coordinate and implement the music of the worship service of Penngrove Community Church in accordance with the vision of Penngrove Community Church. 

 

Programming:  This includes selecting the songs and order for each service, running of rehearsals, as well as coordinating the music for any special services throughout the year as needed. 

Positions:

Worship Team Leader: Oversees the development, recruitment, and administration of the worship team. 

Team Leader Assistant:  Assists the worship team leader in the development of the worship package, new song selection, as well as lead the team during the absence of the team leader. 

Musical Adviser:  Consults with the team leader on the flow of songs, artistic interpretation of songs, technical musical issues and any other aspects directly dealing with the structure of each worship package. 

 Youth

 

Purpose:  To oversee and implement the programming of the youth ministries of Penngrove Community Church.

 

Programming: Tuesday Night Youth, Core (High School Bible study), once a month social gatherings and special events that include Hume Lake Christian Winter camps and M-Fuge ministry camps.
